Registration Examination

CMTBC’s registration examination is generally held twice a year: once in late winter/spring and once in late summer/fall.

Scheduling is complex in the context of COVID-19. Our goal is to schedule the next registration examination for late winter/early spring 2021, as long as it is safe and practicable to do so.

The registration examination will be administered under enhanced safety protocols consistent with public health and safety guidance provided by BC’s Provincial Health Officer, the BC Centre for Disease Control, and WorkSafeBC.

This webpage will be updated when scheduling details are available.

Candidates are required to complete four components of the registration examination:

  • Written exam: Knowledge & Theory of Sciences
  • Written exam: Clinical Science
  • Performance-Based Assessment (practical exam)
  • Online exam: Law, Ethics & Professionalism. Candidates are enrolled in the online course in Law, Ethics & Professionalism as soon as they have booked the date and time of the online exam. All 10 modules of the online course must be completed before the scheduled exam; course completion is the trigger that releases access to the exam on the scheduled date and time. The online exam is held in proctored computer labs.

Information about CMTBC’s registration examination can be found on the Exam Components webpage.
