Update on March 2020 registration examination

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and emergency measures announced by BC health officials, the written components of CMTBC’s registration examination scheduled for March 28, 2020 are cancelled. Cancelling the written exams scheduled in Vancouver, Kelowna, and Victoria was a difficult decision, but the safety of all involved is paramount.

CMTBC will contact all exam candidates with information about rescheduling the written exams. But please note, it may be a lengthy time before arrangements are finalized, given the prevailing uncertainty.

We understand that candidates have questions about the exam components you have completed, the possibility of fee refunds, and other exam-related topics. As more information is confirmed, CMTBC will update this page, and the COVID-19 Information for Registrants page. Please check back for updates. CMTBC will also email applicants directly.

If your contact information changes – phone number/s, email address, or mailing address – please update your record in the Applicant Portal.

Staff are working remotely and will continue to respond to messages sent to [email protected]. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to changing circumstances and a higher than usual number of enquiries.

Registration examination components

The following provides general information about registration examination components. No dates are currently scheduled for these components.

Candidates are required to complete four components of the registration examination:

  • Written exam: Knowledge & Theory of Sciences
  • Written exam: Clinical Science
  • Performance-Based Assessment (practical exam)
  • Online exam: Law, Ethics & Professionalism. Candidates are enrolled in the online course in Law, Ethics & Professionalism as soon as they have booked the date and time of the online exam. The online exam is held in proctored computer labs.
